The Anesthesia Team Coordinator is responsible for leading the team of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians, ensuring that the required clinical competencies are maintained and that clinical standards of practice are followed in their daily work. The Coordinator is responsible for meeting the needs of the Anesthesia department, by ensuring that a smooth flow of anesthesia support services and anesthesia supplies/equipment are available to all patients receiving Anesthesia care within the hospital. This includes the Surgical Services Department, GI/Special Procedures Unit, Interventional Radiology, ED, Cath Lab, and Labor & Delivery. This is a technical leadership position working on a daily basis with the daily charge RN and daily Charge Anesthesiologist to ensure all daily anesthesia needs are met with the overall responsibility of reporting to the OR Clinical Assistant Manager/Manager. The Coordinator will also work collaboratively with the Medical Director for Perioperative Services, an Anesthesiologist. Work situations are both routine and urgent/emergent in nature and require significant organizational skills and attention to detail. Internal contacts are with health care staff throughout the hospital. External contacts also include other healthcare facilities and vendors.
Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia Technician Program; Associates degree preferred
Four years experience as an Anesthesia Technician/Technologist; with progressive responsibility preferred
Current certification as an Anesthesia Technician/Technologist
Basic Life Support Certification
