Position Summary: The department case manager is responsible to assist in the development, planning, coordination, and administration of the activities of the Utilization Review and Resource Management, including but not limited to daily review of medical records to determine appropriateness and medical necessity of admission, continued hospital stay, and use of ancillary services.

Minimum Requirements: Must have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in hospital case management preferred. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public, hospital and physician staff. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Must be able to prioritize and make appropriate judgment calls. Must be able to communicate effectively, written and oral.

Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors degree preferred. Associate degree/Diploma accepted from an accredited school of nursing or related field. Registered Nursing License, State of Washington. Acute Case Manager (ACM) or Certified Case Manager (CCM) preferred.
