We are pleased to announce that Witt/Kieffer has been engaged to assist in the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) search for MultiCare Auburn Medical Center/Covington. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced physician leader to join a high-performing, growing health system in scenic Washington State.
The Auburn/Covington region is located close to Tacoma, Washington. It includes both Auburn Medical Center and the new Covington Hospital, due to open in early 2018. Founded in 1982, MultiCare is the largest provider of healthcare services in the city of Tacoma as well as Pierce County, Kitsap County, Thurston County, and Southern King County. MultiCare provides healthcare services at multiple locations throughout the south Puget Sound area, including four acute care hospitals in the South Sound Region and the region's only Children's Hospital. The system also has a medical group with over 750 employed providers and an array of freestanding emergency department and outpatient facilities. MultiCare is financially healthy with over $2.5 billion annual net revenue in 2016 and a 6.75% operating margin.
Reporting directly to the new president and CEO of MultiCare Auburn Medical Center/Covington, the CMO serves on the executive leadership team and has oversight for the development, facilitation and coordination of clinical excellence, systems of care, clinical transformation and Service development.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced physician leader with a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in a multi-site healthcare system. He/she will be a physician with appropriate board certification and a medical degree from an accredited school. He/she will possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. And advanced degree in healthcare administration or related field is desirable.
