The Clinical Dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using hospital standards and evidenced-based practice guidelines/protocols; managing resources in a cost effective manner; participating in performance improvement efforts; and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice.
Prefer Registered Dietitian with 3 to 5 years clinical experience providing medical nutrition therapy in the inpatient setting for a wide variety of disease states to include diabetes, obesity, renal disease, wound healing, cardiovascular health, tube feedings and TPN.
Experience and comfort with public speaking preferred.
Computer literacy is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition or related area granted by a U.S. regional accredited college or university. Completion of a didactic program in Dietetics and a supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or an approved dietetic internship by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Coordinated Undergraduate Program, or Master’s Degree with experience.
Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or Registration Eligible. If registration eligible, must pass the dietetic registration exam within 90 days of hire.
Certification/Licensure as required by the state of practice.
