Position Summary:
The Clinical Resource Specialist provides expert nursing care and develops clinical practice guidelines in a defined area of specialization.  The role is a flexible one depending on patient care needs and changing priorities within the organization.  Primary role functions include clinical practice, consultation, staff and patient education, research, interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership.  This position works collaboratively with the clinical director, unit managers, care managers, care providers, unit educators, staff, all members of interdisciplinary care team and ancillary personnel. The Clinical Resource Specialist contributes to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the service line and the organization’s plan for providing and improving quality of care to the patients and their families/significant others.  This position requires interpretation of information relating to a wide variety of policies, clinical and practice guidelines and standards within the specialty service area.  Work situations are frequently non-routine and require clinical practice management, leadership, consultation, research, analysis and use of discretion and expert clinical judgment and decision-making.  

Minimum Requirements:
Three years unit-based experience

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington
BSN required or signed agreement to complete within 3 years, Master’s preferred
Certification in specialty area preferred
