The Contract Support Specialist is responsible to providing comprehensive technical and administrative support for the Payor Contracting department. This position supports the implementation and communication needs system wide for all MultiCare Health System professional, facility, ancillary and behavioral health contract activities. Work situations require diplomacy, creativity and independence. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required to provide adequate contract support and to assure effective communication throughout MHS. The position requires skill in communication with sometimes challenging constituents. Internal contacts include Patient Accounting, Physician Billing, Corporate Compliance, Finance, and MultiCare Medical Group. External contacts include physicians, third party administrators, and insurance plans to include government and commercial carriers. This position works independently under limited supervision. Work situations are highly varied with rapidly changing priorities, which require strong interpersonal and organizational skills, discretion and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive and privileged information. Independent thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills are required within the scope of the position responsibilities.
Four years direct experience in health care
Three years clerical experience at administrative level, to include use of computer software applications
Associates Degree or equivalent education and experience
