Position Summary:
The Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for utilizing creative arts therapy techniques to facilitate understanding and practice of coping skills; foster and enhance communication, self-esteem, creativity, socialization and physical movement of assigned geriatric patient population. The incumbent provides creative arts therapy services, and psycho-education to patients in the in-patient setting.  This position works under limited supervision. Internal contacts include all levels of staff and management. External contacts include patients and families/caregivers, physicians, and community agencies.

Minimum Requirements:
One year of experience working in a hospital/acute situation or equivalent social service agency relative to the Creative Arts Therapy function required
Experience with geriatrics and disabled adults preferred

Master’s Degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, or Drama Therapy
A Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy, plus MT-BC certification or,
A Master’s Degree in related field, plus registration/certification in one of the Creative Arts Therapies may be considered
Agency Affiliated Counselor or Washington State Licensure within 90 days of  hiire
Registration and/or Board-Certification preferred (MT-BC, ATR-BC, RDT, BC-DMT)
Licensure preferred (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT)
