The Database Administrator III position is an advanced-level technical position. This position provides technical analysis, configuration, maintenance, modification and monitoring of supported clinical, financial and administrative databases. This position also supports internal software application development solutions, focusing on process automation and data optimization. This position supports best practices and requirements for data storage, database architecture, tuning, maintenance and reporting, ensuring hardware/software compatibility. Analyzes database performance to ensure it is meeting availability and performance objectives. Evaluates and recommends new software products to support with performance monitoring, troubleshooting and software/application development. Develops and maintains documentation on design specifications and system/software development life cycle for development projects.
Five - Seven (5 – 7) years experience in database administration, implementing, operating, maintaining or using (as a “super user”) systems in an Information Technology or health care setting.
Previous installation experience with healthcare systems, databases, and interfaces in hospitals and/or clinic settings or with a healthcare system vendor preferred.
Specific recent relevant Information Technology or healthcare experience may be substituted for education.
AA degree in business, healthcare, or Information Technology; Bachelor’s preferred.
Technical certification (i.e. MCDBA, MCSE, OCP, OCM, MCPD, etc.) or comparable experience required.
Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
