Position Summary:
The Director of Clinical Excellence reports to the Chief Nursing Executive, and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the programs at Good Samaritan Hospital and Clinics, that support Pathway to Excellence, the Professional Practice of Nursing, Clinical Practice and Strategic Plans supporting outcomes in Nursing and Clinical Practice Excellence. Areas of oversight include the following: nursing strategic planning, professional development, nursing interfaces within the health system, nursing quality programs and evidenced based research initiatives that support clinical practice in nursing.  This position assumes a key leadership role in sustaining the key concepts of the professional practice model and care delivery system across the health system, collaborating effectively with other members of the health care team.  The position provides leadership and focus to the Pathway to Excellence vision and concepts of the Professional Practice Model of Care and the Professional Practice of Nursing Strategic Plan and aligns them with the strategic goals for nursing, as well as the organization.

Minimum Requirements:
Five (5) years of experience as a Pathway to Excellence or Magnet as a Director
10 years acute care clinical experience in a professional or technical role/function
5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity
Internal applicants not meeting requirements may be considered.

Masters of Science degree in Nursing;  Doctoral in nursing or related field preferred
Washington license or eligibility to apply for a Washington nursing license
