Position Summary:
The Infection Prevention Director is responsible for leading a team of Infection Preventionists assigned to specific business units. Directing all activities related to the prevention and control of health care associated infections and communicable diseases throughout all of MultiCare Health System facilities and services.  These responsibilities include setting best practice standards and evaluating compliance for practices that are associated with the prevention and control of health-care associated infections across the continuum of care.  The Infection Prevention Director is responsible for designing, leading and maintaining an infection prevention program for the all MHS hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and ambulatory clinics that are consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions recommendations, TJC Standards, OSHA/DOSH and DOH regulations and current published literature in the field of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Prevention.  The Infection Prevention Director will provide consultation and guidance to all areas, both clinical and non-clinical.  This position is required to perform ongoing assessment of infection risk related to services provided and the population served and to be responsive to changes in these risks.

Minimum Requirements:
Eight (8) years experience and mastery of professional or technical role/function; infection prevention and epidemiology with acute and ambulatory care experience
Five (5) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology or related field required
Master’s degree, or in progress, preferred
Certified in Infection Control
