The Director of Professional Nursing Practice will partner with the Nurse Executive Council (NEC) to ensure that innovative and coordinated strategies for the delivery of patient care will be implemented across MultiCare Health System. This role supports NEC and is responsible for providing leadership and for being a change agent to advance a culture of professional nursing practice, foster evidence-based practices and continuous improvement, cultivate lifelong learning, and partner in the implementation and enhancement of technology to support clinical practice and service excellence. This position advises on best practices for patient care delivery and professional nursing practice within MHS hospitals and ambulatory facilities and is responsible for supervision of system-wide nursing and clinical policies and procedures that define and establish a uniform standard of quality patient care. The incumbent, in partnership with NEC, is also responsible for developing and advising on programs for nurse leader development and nursing growth and development as well as programs for clinical nursing excellence which may include oversight of programs such as AACN Pathways to Excellence and specialty specific accreditation programs. This role requires establishing and maintaining a rapport and professional working relationships with all levels of staff, physicians, management, administration and other service providers throughout the health system.

5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience
Bachelors of Science Nursing required, Masters degree in a health related field recommended, Masters or Doctorate in Nursing preferred
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
