Position Summary: The Electrophysiology Technologist (EP Tech) provides assistance to the hospital and medical staff by preparing, operating, and maintaining all cardiovascular equipment needed for EP studies, including catheter ablaton, left ventricular mapping, AICD implantation, temporary and permanent pacemaker insertions, in addition to CVT responsibilities including cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, intra-aortic balloon and Swan Ganz insertion, and physiologic pressure monitoring.

Minimum Requirements: Proficient in trouble shooting various types of cardiovascular EP equipment, including:

GE MacLab 7000/Prucka Combo, thermodilution cardiac output computer, pressure injectors, a variety of intra-aortic balloon pumps, various physiologic pressure and EKG monitors, defibrillators, and pacemaker analyzers, Bloom Stimulator, EPT RF Generator, Ensite Mapping System, RF Ablation EPT Generator, X-ray equipment, IVUS, and Chili RF Generator.

Must be familiar with various scrubbing and troubleshooting antitachycardia pacemakers and implantable defibrillators.

Must possess advanced knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ECG analysis, and hemodynamics.

Experience with EP Ablations monitoring, study configuration/channel set up, A-fib Ablations, scrubbing and manipulating catheters for mapping and ablation and primary scrub for SVT, VT, A-fib, Flutter, and A tach.

EP experience including catheter manipulation preferred.

Must realize own limits when attempting arteriotomies and venopunctures, including when to have assistance from physician


Education/Licenses/Certifications: Two years of formal training for CVT or equivalent experience.
Registration with the National Society for Cardiovascular Technologists (NSCVT) or equivalent cardiovascular association preferred.
Two years EP experience including catheter manipulation preferred.
Registration with the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE) preferred.
Registration with NSCVT or equivalent experience.
Registration with NASPE or equivalent experience.
