Position Summary:
The Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the MultiCare Health System Infection Control Program.  This position is required to develop, analyze, and interpret a variety of information relating to infection control surveillance, policies, procedures, staff education, practices, and regulatory mandates, requiring independent decision-making and analytical problem solving.

Minimum Requirements:
Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice nursing in the State of Washington
2 years and current clinical experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting.
Experience in Infection Prevention and Control preferred
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) (preferred) or attainment of certification within 2 years of hire.
OR
BS, MT(ASCP) with a focus in microbiology
5 years and current clinical experience in infection prevention and control in acute and ambulatory, adult and pediatrics.
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) (preferred) or attainment of certification within 2 years of hire.
ORM
Master in Public Health,  Environmental Health or other related degree
5 years experience in health care
Experience in Infection Prevention and Control preferred
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) (preferred) or attainment of certification within 2 years of hire.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice nursing in the State of Washington
OR --- BS, MT(ASCP) with a focus in microbiology
OR  ---Master in Public Health,  Environmental Health or other related degree

Position supports ambulatory care in the West Pierce County region.
