The Intake Specialist - MHP is responsible for providing clinical assessments and intakes of publicly-funded, non-funded and Medicare adults seeking mental health services at GSBH. Contributes to the success of Good Samaritan Behavioral Health’s “open access” process, ensuring that individuals receive a behavioral health assessment at the time of request. Refers consumers to the most appropriate resources, both internal and external to Good Samaritan Behavioral Health. This position’s complexity is moderate. Responsibilities are fairly well-defined with established procedures and criteria. Intake specialists must be able to exercise good clinical judgment in assessing a wide array of individuals as well as be able to determine the most appropriate course of treatment. The position has little direct budgetary accountability. Errors in work could result in inappropriate approval or denial of services.
Two years experience in the direct treatment of children or adults with severe and persistent mental illness
Previous experience working with a wide variety of social service systems.
Must have a Washington State driver’s license, good driving record and private auto insurance
Masters degree in a mental health related discipline from an accredited college or university
Must possess, or be able to obtain Washington State Counselor Agency-Affiliated Registration upon hire.
Must qualify as an MHP under the Washington Administrative Code (WAC)
Salary Range: $21.18 - $25.83 per hour.
