GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Interventional Imaging (Special Procedures) Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of special technical, diagnostic and interventional radiologic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.  The Technologist also assumes responsibility for specified radiographic procedures, and/or may be assigned duties as an instructor.   This position works at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, independently performing special procedures.   The work situations for this position are varied and require independent judgment as well as ingenuity and initiative in order to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.  External contacts include patients, family members, and physicians.  Internal contacts include nursing service staff and management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

-Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school
-Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
-Advanced certificate of CIT (Cardiovascular Interventional Technology) and or Vascular Interventional (VI) certification  preferred as specified by hiring department
-Certified with the State of Washington Department of Health
-Experience in special radiologic procedures preferred
