This position troubleshoots, repairs and maintains all equipment and utility systems under the responsibility of the Director of Plant Operations: able to evaluate malfunctioning conditions, initiate and perform repairs; installs mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams sketches, operational manuals and manufacturers specifications; and performs preventive maintenance as directed.
The Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for repairing and maintaining all HVAC systems, electrical systems, pneumatic tube systems, nurse call systems, boilers and boiler auxiliaries. This position’s direct responsibilities include: installation of mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operational manuals and manufacturers specifications; retrofitting, calibrating and modifying all facets of the environmental control systems, testing, balancing and adjusting heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment to maintain optimal operational efficiency; alterations, additions and maintenance of all electrical systems; repairs of small motors, appliances, switchgear, distribution centers and associated wiring; and provides preventive maintenance on all equipment in conjunction with preventive maintenance schedules developed in the Plant Operations Department.
Minimum of four (4) years experience in repair and maintenance of Plant/Hospital Equipment (E)
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (E)
Current City of Spokane Second Class Stationary Engineers License if operating boilers (E)
Vocational training in subjects associated with Plant Maintenance or commercial construction training and ability to read interpret blueprints and specifications preferred. (NE)
