The Engineering Manager is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and managing all activities of the Construction/Trades division, Operating Engineers, HVAC Technicians, Maintenance Mechanics, and Engineering Technicians as a function of the Engineering Services Department, and for ensuring the assigned facilities are furnished with uninterrupted utility services, general maintenance of buildings (interior and exterior), preventive maintenance of buildings, equipment, and mechanical and electrical systems. This position is a mid-level management position and directly and indirectly supervises staff in assigned area. This position also works collaboratively with the Manager, Systems Sustainability and Safety and individual Subject Matter Experts to develop short- and long-term plans for assigned areas and to ensure the assigned areas meet all JC and other regulatory requirements. Work situations are frequently non-routine requiring the use of discretion and good judgment in making independent decisions, fact-finding, problem solving, analysis, and delegation. Internal contacts include all levels of staff and management. External contacts include outside design architects, engineers, construction contractors, vendors, and national, state, and local regulatory agencies. Contacts require high-level interactions that establish rapport, negotiation, and contract administration.
10 years facilities experience in a healthcare setting
Three years supervisory experience
Experience in alltrades
BA/BS in related field. A combination of education and additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree upon approval from HP and provided there is a commitment to pursuing and completing the degree within a specified time frame.
Professional Engineering license in mechanical or electrical engineering desired
Internal candidates are grandfathered with regards to the education requirement (3/2014)
