Position Summary:
The Materials/Pyxis Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all aspects of the TG, MB, and Day Surgery Centers non-stock operating room supplies, including, but not limited to, inventory control, PAR utilization and management.  The position oversees acquisition of over 6,000 items.  The Materials/Pyxis Coordinator has operational responsibility for the successful utilization of the Pyxis automated point of use Supply System.  The Coordinator will assure the system is utilized effectively, ensuring supply availability and the efficient utilization of supply resources.  Work situations are routine and physically demanding and require a detailed understanding of surgical supply acquisition, the Lawson ordering process and inventory management. The Coordinator implements the Surgical Services supply decisions, as directed by the OR Materials Manager.  The position requires sound judgment, strong organizational and problem solving skills, as well as excellent time management.  Internal contacts include staff, physicians, materials management and Surgical Services Management.  External contacts include physicians, vendors and other healthcare facilities.  

Minimum Requirements:
Five years experience in a patient care environment or and operating room environment preferred . Materials management setting experience preferred. Five years experience related to shipping/receiving, stocking, warehousing, storekeeping, and hospital central service/distribution or inventory control. Computer input/keyboard experience.  Computerized Materials Management system experience preferred.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Post high school college, AA or BA degree preferred.
