The MHP is a clinical position responsible for the delivery of counseling and case management services to an identified client population. This position maintains a client caseload, following established treatment guidelines and agency policies and procedures. Provides therapeutic intervention in a variety of treatment modalities individually matched to the needs of each client. Provides referrals to other services and programs in the community, as needed. Actively advocates on behalf of the client.
Previous experience providing mental health counseling services preferred.
Must qualify as an MHP according to the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 388-865-0150 (most commonly achieved through having a Master’s Degree in a behavioral health related field AND Two years of previous experience providing mental health counseling services supervised by an MHP)
Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration upon hire.
Current Washington State Driver’s License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state. May also require reliable vehicle for client transport.
Salary Range: $21.18 - $25.83 per hour
This position will focus on a federally mandated program called PASRR (Preadmission Assessment and Resident Review). The position requires staff to complete a comprehensive psycho-social evaluation for persons with mental health issues who are entering a skilled nursing facility. The evaluations take place in a hospital setting or skilled nursing facility. Other responsibilities include: collaboration with facility social workers to obtain medical records, team meetings, and writing reports with the results of the evaluation and recommendations for mental health services.
