Position Summary: Prepares and positions patients, prepares and administers radioactive drugs, and operates nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment. Collects, prepares, and analyzes biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation.
Is a member of the patient care team and performs radioisotope procedures to measure concentrations of radioactivity in specific body areas. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed radioactive isotopes for nuclear diagnosis on a patient population including neonates, pediatric, young adult, adult, and elderly patients. Perform related duties as required.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Successful completion of an AMA accredited program or BA of Science. Current certification by the State Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT) or registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine. Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
