Position Summary: The Manager of Nursing Services organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates care and staffing for their department. The Manager ensures processes/accountabilities are in place to effectively support the safe and effective care of patients. The Manager oversees the day to day operations of the department, assuring standards of nursing process, care, treatment, and services are followed and staff know and follow unit specific policy and procedures. Responsible for directing and evaluating the provision of patient care, treatment, and services in the department. Key functions of the position including planning, leading, organizing, directing, and evaluating at the departmental level. Accepts 24-hour accountability for areas of responsibility. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, legal requirements, CHS and Deaconess policy. Develops, implements, and monitors objectives and goals to integrate technical and human resources to support organization’s mission, vision and values. Provides direction, support and guidance to the staff and demonstrates positive role model in response to questions, issues or concerns raised by staff, family or physicians. Leads the department to develop a culture of safety and collaboration.
Minimum Requirements: Required: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience within specialty area. One or more years of previous management/leadership experience preferred. Evidence of the analytical skills necessary to solve technical, clinical, administrative, or managerial problems. Requires knowledge in specialty area with ability to implement initiatives, systems, and programs. Evidence of communication skills necessary to influence others and ensure organizational values, initiatives and priorities are implemented at the staff level. Proven ability to develop work flows.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Current State license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington. Specialty certification in area of expertise preferred. AHA BLS Required.
