Position Summary:Responsible for observing and documenting the assigned patients under the direction of an RN. Communicates with the RN on all aspects of patient care. Must observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families and employees of Valley Hospital. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and Valley Hospital. Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action.
Minimum Requirements:Desirable characteristics include 3 months experience as a patient sitter, preferably in the area of application. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards under the supervision of a RN. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
Current AHA Heart Saver or BLS certification or obtained during the first week of orientation;Crisis Intervention Training completed within 90 days
