Position Summary:
The Clinical Staff Pharmacist ensures prompt and accurate pharmaceutical care and services for patients, nurses, and physicians; provides patient-oriented clinical pharmacy services and pharmaceutical care in either a decentralized or centralized manner; dispenses medications to inpatients and ambulatory patients which have been prescribed by a licensed practitioner in accordance with legal requirements and hospital policy; interprets and evaluates the validity and safety of medication orders and prescriptions written by licensed practitioner; checks for appropriate dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and or contra-indications for use before dispensing medications; communicates with the physician regarding appropriateness of a medication order. The position will also fulfill CDTA consults

Minimum Requirements:
One or more years decentralized clinical pharmacy experience preferred. Hospital pharmacy experience required.

Graduate of an accredited College or School of Pharmacy, Licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Washington.  Completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency preferred.

This position will support various adult and pediatric assignments including both decentral and central. This is a per diem shift and hours are variable.  Does include weekend and holiday staffing.

Pharmacist are an important part of the integrated healthcare team at MultiCare. MultiCare use advanced  technology including EHR, CPOE, bar code, smart pumps, automated medication dispensing cabinets and dispensing carousel.
