Excellent opportunity to join a well established Vascular Surgery department. Position includes outpatient and inpatient responsibilities. The APP will be responsible for seeing returning, post-operative, follow- up and new patients. Daily rounding on all vascular surgery patients with occasional assistance with rounding on cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. Also includes admitting patients and assisting the surgeons in the OR. The APP will also assist the Vascular care team in the development of outpatient and inpatient education materials.
There is call that is shared amongst all APPs in the department.
Ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience under the direction of vascular surgeons in clinical management of vascular surgery patients, including experience in outpatient setting, familiarity with vascular laboratory use and interpretation, in-patient management and consultations, and operative experience with vascular surgery including open procedures and endovascular procedures. The ideal candidate should have three years of experience in the vascular medicine including risk factor management, venous disease management, atherosclerosis, extracranial cerebrovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, tobacco use disorder. Ideal candidate should have experience with venous sclerotherapy and management of venous stasis dermatitis. Ideal candidate should have experience in administrative management of the out-patient vascular clinic and in-patient nursing administration at director level. The ideal candidate must have experience and skills in developing effective collaborative working relationships with referring physicians, office staff, vascular laboratory technologists, operating room staff, floor nursing staff and administration of the clinic and hospital.
Washington state license by time of employment, DEA, NPI and prescriptive authority. Current BLS for healthcare providers by the American Heart Association.
