Join our established Clinical Informatics team as a Physician Informaticist to provide support and leadership for the implementation, maintenance and optimization of health information technology, including Epic, across all MultiCare Health System clinical settings. The Physician Informaticist position is 0.5 FTE and we can facilitate employment in a clinical practice appropriate to your medical specialty to increase FTE.
Principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
•Lead and facilitate physician advisory groups, committees and work teams to support effective design, build, implementation, training and communication of and about health information technology
•Support effective prioritization of provider enhancement requests with operational leadership
•Provide a collaborative approach to complete integration of the electronic health record across the continuum of care (home, ambulatory, urgent/emergency, acute care, extended care) in support of quality patient care and patient-centered care delivery
•Champion organizational efforts to leverage clinical and operational data to analyze and predict clinical and operational performance and improve outcomes
•Provide a collaborative approach to the integration of ancillary services and related technologies that support enhanced medication safety
•Employ ‘Evidence Based Medicine’ methodologies to ensure our executable clinical content is accurate, up to date and based on the highest quality clinical evidence
The Informatics Department and IS&T Division of MultiCare Health System:
•Clinical Informatics team staffed with long-term employees
•Long-standing Epic customer – (EpicCare Ambulatory since 1998 and Inpatient since 2007)
•HIMSS Stage 7 achieved by most MultiCare hospitals
•“Most Wired” Hospital designation for 7 consecutive years
•Informatics leaders and team members work closely with counterparts from other areas of the IS&T division – many opportunities for shared learning and growth
•Direct participation in IS&T governance process
•Opportunities abound – from day to day optimizations to new implementations
•5+ years experience practicing as a board-certified MD/DO
•Fluent knowledge of Health Information Systems and applications (i.e. Epic) with ability to apply these tools to support clinical and business needs
•Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment
•DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
•Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
•Informatics training (i.e. AMIA 10x10, Epic Physician Builder, Master’s coursework)
•Experience working with vendors, consultants and/or other health information system services and parties
