Position Summary:

Navos Out Patient utilizes a collaborative team of psychiatrists and advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practioners to deliver outpatient psychiatric care across diverse clinical settings to promote wellness and recovery. The position is responsible for providing safe and competent, therapeutic care and coordination of client services including initial diagnostics psychiatric evaluation, record review and medication management; remaining current in best practices; completing documentation in a timely fashion; and helping to ensure communication with outside medical providers as needed. Responsible for both client medication monitoring and coordination of pertinent medical care.

Position Requirements:

•Must be able to work independently as an ARNP in good standing, including with children, adults, and older adults.
•Familiarity with psychotropic medications, their prescribing, appropriate monitoring and management of potential side effects.
•Knowledge of current mental health system in Washington State and especially the involuntary treatment system.
•Familiarity with Washington Administrative Code regulations and professional standards governing the treatment of the mentally ill.
•Knowledge of principles and techniques used in group and individual therapy, including motivational interviewing and the principles and methods of intervention.
•Knowledge of currently accepted theories of human behavior, personality development, psychological and physical causes/contributions of mental disorders and conditions.
•Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office suite.
•Ability to remain confidential in all matters.

Education, Experience, and Certification:

•Must possess and maintain current unrestricted WA State RN & ARNP licenses, as well as current federal DEA/NPI licenses/numbers, active Medicare provider status and ongoing professional certification.
•Must meet the minimum qualification of a Mental Health Professional as per WAC 275.55.
•Preferably 2 years of direct experience in the treatment of severely and persistently mentally ill clients.
• Completion of an APA-approved residency in psychiatry
• MD degree with Board eligibility in psychiatry
• Experience working in psychiatric settings with both acutely and chronically mentally ill adults preferred
