Position Summary:
The Bed Capacity Coordinator provides direction and oversight for efficient patient flow and appropriate patient placement by integrating system and community resources in accordance with clinical standards and guidelines to meet hospital and system targets.  The Bed Capacity Coordinator serves as the point person collaborating with all involved disciplines and services to expedite patient flow and oversee/coordinate bed assignments from all points of entry.  The incumbent proactively anticipates priority for admissions, transfers, and discharges; anticipates potential bottlenecks in patient flow and intervenes when necessary. The Bed Capacity Coordinator; communicates openly with appropriate leadership team to ensure hospital wide knowledge of key decision factors; participates and contributes to organizational initiatives that impact patient flow; supports continuous performance and quality improvement; assists with data collection and report generation of patient flow to assure quality nursing care and throughput capacity is delivered during assigned shifts, and ensures a patient focused environment is maintained for safety and quality healthcare.

Minimum Requirements:
Five years recent clinical experience in Critical Care
Two years management experience preferred
Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Master’s degree preferred
Licensed as a R.N. in the State of Washington
BLS AHA Provider required upon hire
ACLS provider required upon hire

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across clinical areas.
Must be available to attend eight consecutive weekdays of general orientation upon start.
