The Behavioral Scientist is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the behavioral science portion of the family practice residency curriculum, didactic teaching, consultation with residents and faculty, provision of clinical services to the family center patient population, and coordination of resident evaluation. This is a professional level position operating independently with a minimum of supervision. Work situations vary from routine to specialized project work and require organization, analysis, and the use of discretion and good judgment, problem solving, and independent decision-making. Internal contacts are typically within the work group but may include clinical staff and management throughout the medical center. External contacts include outside medical facilities, medical schools, physicians, and outside agencies.
Demonstrated teaching experience in medical education and scholarly productivity
Demonstrated behavioral health experience in integrated primary care
Experience working in a medical education system or in collaboration with medical practices
PhD or PsyD from APA-accredited doctoral training program and completion of an APA accredited internship with an emphasis in Health Psychology or a related field, or EdD with psychology or educational leadership focus, or PhD in social work with healthcare focus, or PhD in marriage and family therapy, or physician with expertise in psychiatry or behavioral science
License-eligible in the state of Washington as psychologist, social worker, marital and family therapist, or physician
