Position Summary:
Provide exceptional clinical education program management and training using sound education practices and innovations to ensure regulatory compliance and top decile quality patient care. Synthesize pertinent evidence in development of resources and training to promote best practices and guide clinical care. Apply principles of change and project management to implement new clinical practices, equipment, and processes. Adapt and flex to dynamic work environments and to the needs of learners and customers. Plan, deliver, check and adjust education items in collaboration with ILD team members and customer/partners to ensure learning occurs. External contacts include outside agencies, vendors and schools.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience
Minimum of 3 years in education and/or staff development

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s preferred
RN licensure, Washington State
Certification in Instructional Design, Nursing Staff Development or Human Performance Technology desirable

• Coordinate RN transition-to-practice RN Residency for up to 400 hundred new-graduate RNs for 7 hospitals in 11 different clinical specialties.
o Develop, implement, and evaluate RN Residency Program curriculum based on patient care needs, best practice and AACN Standards for Accreditation.
o Facilitate, and participate in, nurse recruitment, orientation, and retention.
o Act as a public relations officer, marketing representative, nursing school liaison, retention specialist, program manager, and counselor.
o Participate in a systemic, interdisciplinary, and ongoing evaluation of programs, process improvement, desired patient-centered outcomes, and organizational outcomes.
o Plan, coordinate and/or instruct core foundation classes, equipment orientation, multispecialty courses, group debriefing sessions and other activities that constitute the curriculum.
o Regularly meet with nursing leadership and senior executives to discuss residency program successes and opportunities for improvement based on solicited feedback and data from stakeholders.
o Collaborate with local nursing school leaders and advisors to share feedback from new-graduates, collaborate on curriculum, and drive best-practice to best support the new nurse in their transition to practice.
o Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals, which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
