Position Summary:
The Vocational Counselor position supports individuals with severe disabilities to obtain and maintain employment. This involves partnering with the local business community to discover a job match and/or create customized employment. The ideal candidate will be organized and passionate about employment for all clients.  Will provide analysis of business needs, systematic instruction, develop person-centered employment plans and provide support to not only the employee but to the employer.                                                            

Minimum Requirements:
Equivalent experience working with people with developmental disabilities or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
Two years experience developing jobs or preparing clients for employment for DDA or DVR clients                                 

Education/Licenses/Certifications:  
Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health related field  
Must obtain a First Aid and CPR card and complete all mandatory state/county training within the first 3 months of employment
Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state  agency
Must pass a DSHS- BCCU criminal background check

Salary Range $18.50 - $22.56/hr.
